In a series of interviews of local Eastern Shore residents in 1977, former Salisbury University student Howard Hedges collected folk life material. His collection focuses on urban tales of Sussex County, Delaware. It focuses essentially on folklore about animals and monsters of the famous Burnt Swamp. Most interviews include a short description of the informant and his or her relationship with the interviewer.
